Description*
The feed water is preheated in the heat exchanger E009 by steam condensation from the last column and in the preheaters F004-F001 by condensate produced in all modes.
The feed water partially evaporates in the first column (E001) heated by industrial steam.
The industrial steam passes through preheater F001 and is drained through steam trap ST001.
The pure steam produced from the upper part and the non-evaporated water from the lower part pass to the next effect, where the process is repeated at lower pressure and temperature.
The distillate produced by the condensation of pure steam passes to the preheater F002. The process is repeated for all columns in the same way.
The steam produced in the last effect is condensed and cooled together with the distillate from the preheaters of the exchangers E009 and E01O, by means of feed and cooling water.
Conveyed by the main pipe at the top of the column, the feed water flows down the tube side of the exchanger and evaporates heated by the industrial steam from the housing side.
The water vapour mixture is transported to the bottom of the column through the main tunnel, where the vapour is separated from the water. The water rests at the bottom and exits through port B; the steam rises from outside the tunnel and exits through port F.
Condensate passes through the side of the preheater housing and exits through port G; feed water enters through port C and exits through port D.

INLET STEAM
The steam must be saturated, dry and free of oil and other impurities that could foul the surfaces of the exchanger.
The pressure can vary from 3 to 8 bar; the installation has a safety valve set at 9 bar.
