The balance is inserted into a line to transport the objects to be checked, whatever their nature and shape. It takes a certain amount of time for the object being transported to travel across the scale pan; this time, although short, is sufficient for the scale to settle into the position proportional to the weight of the object. After reading the weight, the packages pass onto the exit conveyor on which the diverting system is located. The machine is not dependent on the downstream machine. The speed of the conveyors is adjustable.

The checkweigher for continuous checkweighing consists of two structures on which the checkweighing conveyor and the diversion system for incorrect packages are located. There is an infeed conveyor which has the task of evenly spacing out the incoming packages and an outfeed conveyor located downstream of the weighing conveyor on which is located the ejection device which has the task of diverting out-of-tolerance and non-weighable packages from the line.
