Stretch wrapping machines are end-of-line machines for tertiary packaging, i.e. packaging dedicated to the warehouse transport of products. There are many types of stretch wrappers; the most famous are... the rotary stretch wrappers: the product to be wrapped is placed on a rotating platform. As the platform rotates, a vertical arm moves from the bottom to the top to completely wrap the pallet and products. The pallet or the products remain stationary and it is the arm with the film reel which rotates around the product in order to to wrap it. There are also orbital stretch wrappers that are used for long products (such as plastic extruders, carpet rolls, wood...) that would not be stable on a turntable. In this case, the product is placed on a belt at a set distance and is then wrapped thanks to an orbital system that applies the film to it while it moves horizontally on the tape. We find these machines in all sectors of activity. Those who travel by plane often see the wrappers at the airport, in fact, these are the machines that wrap the luggages. The aim both at the airport and at the industrial level is the same: to pack in order to protect the product during transport.
