The machines used for secondary packaging are all those machines that pack a product in additional
secondary packaging. A product already previously packaged in its main packaging will be further... packaged in a second package or carton. Secondary packaging often contributes to the
packaging of the product as we find it on the shelves at the point of sale. A bottle, blister, tube or jar can be packed in a carton, often, especially in the pharmaceutical sector,
together with a leaflet. This packaging is done using a vertical cartoning machine (the product is manually inserted into the carton by an operator) or a horizontal cartoning machine
(fully automatic packaging within an entire line). It is also possible to add into the carton a small glass, a teaspoon or other devices depending on the nature of the product. Secondary
packaging machines also include labelling and sleeving machines, which apply, for example, one or more adhesive labels, an inviolability label on a carton, or a label that will cover the
entire product, to a bottle that has already been filled. Other products are grouped and wrapped using bundling machines, or individually wrapped in a film with overwrappers. To complete
the shrinkwrappers or overwrapping machines, there may also be a shrink tunnel that will make the film adhere to the product.
