A checkweigher is selected based on three main parameters: the weight of the product to be checked, the desired weighing accuracy, and the required production speed. Placement in production lines

Checkweighers can be positioned at various points along the production line depending on requirements. They can be placed after the product has been packaged, for example after a carton machine, to verify that the final weight is correct. Alternatively, they can be positioned before packaging in the case of industrial products with multiple components. In this case, the checkweigher is used to determine if the product is complete with all parts and whether it can be packaged, or if it should be rejected due to non-conformity.

Control and rejection system

The PLC sets the exact weight and acceptable tolerance parameters. The product is transported on a conveyor, weighed in real-time by the checkweigher, and if the weight is correct, it continues to the next processing stages. If the sensor detects an incorrect weight or a weight outside the set tolerances, the product is automatically rejected. Often, products outside tolerance are rejected using a pneumatic device and collected in a dedicated container for possible reprocessing or disposal.
