Weighing scales or checkweighers are automatic machines for checking the weight of different products, from bottles to cases or even individual products in different areas of activity. The checkweigher is... chosen on the basis of the weight of the product, the precision of the weight to be obtained and the speed required. The checkweighers can be positioned after the cartoning machine for example, or before the product is being packaged (in the case of industrial products for example that are made of multiple components). In this second case the checkweigher serves to understand if the product is whole and if it can be packaged, or if it must be rejected because it does not conform to the required standard. The PLC sets the exact weight, the product is transported by a conveyor belt, it is weighed, then if the weight is correct it continues on its way, if the sensor instead detects an incorrect weight the product is rejected (very often products out of tolerance are rejected thanks to a pneumatic device and are collected in a special container).
