BFS (Blow Fill & Seal) technology is mainly used in the pharmaceutical sector and consists of producing plastic containers and filling them with a liquid product. It is a primary... packaging and is generally carried out in a sterile environment. The products are generally ophthalmic drops, injectable solutions, solutions for dialysis or even drainage solutions; products that must therefore be free of any contaminating particle. The process takes place as follows: the pharmaceutical plastic resin is extruded vertically to form a tube. The extruded tube is then inserted into a mould, blown to give it the desired shape, then filled and welded to close it. The mould generally contains several cavities.
