High-speed machining centers are very recent machines whose success goes hand in hand with technological evolution. Today, we have machining centers that can achieve milling speeds that were once impossible.... We speak specifically of high speed centers, when the maximum milling speed exceeds 18,000/24,000 rpm. This particular type of machining center is definitely suitable for the machining of so-called "light" materials such as aluminium, plastic and resins. They are particularly popular and appreciated in the medical sector and in particular in the dental sector in the production of prostheses and implants. The need to work with extreme precision very small and delicate parts makes it impossible to work with more traditional spindle cones commonly used in the removal of materials widely used in the mechanical industry such as steel, cast iron and brass. For this reason, the BT30, BT40 and BT50 spindles are replaced by electrospindles capable of performing up to 48,000 evolutions per minute on which tools suitable for this type of removal are housed. One of the limitations of these machines, which depress their longevity, is the fact that there is a production of an enormous amount of dust during the high-speed milling operation. Dust is a major threat to the structural integrity of the machine itself. In order to limit the negative impact of dust, these machines are often equipped with dust extraction device and dust collection systems.
